The “kimono” has been a staple of Japanese history and culture since ancient times. Today, a Japanese woman usually owns only one kimono --typically a furosode kimono which is worn for the coming of age ceremony on her 19th birthday. This modernized take on a traditional kimono was inspired by the tea houses and gardens found throughout Japan. The words TEN-WA-JIN, literally meaning "Heaven, Harmony and Man" is often inscribed on the entrance ways. Our Mixis Ten-Wa-Jin Dress is wrapped with an obi sash complete with a musubi knot. In ancient times, the knots were believed to banish malicious spirits. Doll NOT included.

These outfits were designed for the Mixis™ dolls and may not fit Barbie. The Mixis™ Limited Edition dolls have been delicately designed with varying skin tones, couture quality Japanese hair filament, realistically painted eyes and facial characteristics that reflect two or more ethnicities. Each doll features a naturally proportioned body and articulated body parts. These Limited Edition dolls, molded from a top weight quality vinyl include a certificate of authenticity.
